The creation of «ΕΛΑΙΑ -
Olive Mill Waste Management Network»
is an initiative of the Waste Management Laboratory of the
University of the Aegean within the framework of NAIAS Programme –
“Innovative Olive Mill Waste Management Systems.
«ELAIA»’s
mission is to develop a network to serve
as a valuable tool for information exchange and technology transfer
in the field of olive mill waste management. This will be achieved
by linking up all parties involved in the olive product business,
bringing them into contact for future co-operation.
At the initial/preliminary stage, the network’s work will
focus on olive mill waste management and the overall
enhancement/improvement of their environmental
efficiency/performance in the olive oil production process.
